I finally got a couple of short letters from Teighlor. Seems like it has been hard for her and I to get into this new routine. :)
I did send her a box for her "Greenie" days of being a new missionary, she seemed to really enjoy that. It was fun to find all the "green" items for her to enjoy.
Here is a little bit of her new letters:
"I happily received your packages! Who brilliant idea was it? (mom insert - it was pinterest :) Especially my favorite colors! Green! I am excited to eat those jello tonight!
To answer your questions:
1. Yes I have cook yet, but not meals yet :( but I will!
2. Members are not doing so good, but spiritually awesome & they do feed us :)
3. My companion are good but we do have huge opposites (mom insert - I told her this was normal and part of the positive thing of going on a mission, it will help her learn how to live with someone and be able to work through things.)
4. What I like about my mission is food. But I am strong! to say No!
I slowly sounded southern but have some of my tongue :) so I sound ridiculous.
We are in a poor area and a lot of the people drink and smoke a lot. I'm scared I will come home with cancer from 2nd hand smoke. :)
We have 7 baptismal dates, 2 of them will officially be baptized while 5 of them we are still struggling with. :/ They believe our word and what we teach them and they want to be baptized but they still want to continue to go to their church because of family and friends.
My companions have been sick the past couple of days. Sis Stevenson was studying to become a nurse before she came on her mission. She wanted to check out my throat because she forgot what a healthy one look like, ha ha...she looked at her throat in the mirror and doesn't think she has strep, so that is good.
So far I have eaten sandwiches (ham and turkey), PB&J, & chicken. Nutella a treat on Saturday only, breakfast is cereal (Honey Bunches of Oats) or a Bagel with cream cheese. Dinner is chicken or a spinach salad. These past day we been fed by members and they shower us with leftovers, which I am grateful for, cause I sadly spend $100 on my first week. But I feel like with leftovers & possible 3 wks of "my" food, I am golden YAY!
How the house looking? How is my Layla (the dog)? And Aamerik?
Love your missionary.
